The Association for the Development of Paediatric and Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery is active since the beginning of MEDINET in 2002. It is a non-governmental organisation operating in the public interest. Its aim is to support the development of minimally invasive cardiac surgery, primarily for paediatric patients.

The Association achieves its goals by:

  • undertaking actions for the promotion and protection of health; organising, together with MEDINET, annual World Heart Days in Wrocław;
  • providing equipment, machines, devices and other medical materials for the preservation and protection of health to centres specialising in the treatment of cardiac diseases and to cardiac rehabilitation centres, especially MEDINET;
  • collaboration with various healthcare organisations in Poland and abroad.

The Association funded:

  • instruments for minimally-invasive and thoracoscopic cardiac surgery in children, which allow us to perform in MEDINET – the only centre in Poland – a procedure of closing the patent ductus arteriosus in children using a minimally-invasive method that reduces the hospitalisation time to a minimum;
  • an open incubator for neonates at the Department of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Therapy;
  • rehabilitation equipment for patients, including a laser therapy device a device for pneumatic massage of limbs, a digital X-ray machine.

Anyone can support children and adults suffering from cardiac diseases by transferring  1% of the income tax from natural persons or any amount to the account of the Association: 26 1020 5226 0000 6102 0019 0942  with the note “KRS 0000062626”.

On February 24, the Association began its ongoing help for Ukraine by sending transports of specialized cardiac surgical and general medical equipment to the Department of Cardiac Surgery of the Hospital in Lviv.

From March 14, the Hospital in Lviv will be awaiting the arrival of children from active war zones in Ukraine, who have qualified for cardiac surgery. These children will be then transported to MEDINET (in Poland) to undergo surgeries and all necessary health supporting and life saving procedures.

Each of you can support these children by making a transfer to the bank account of the Association:
